Little Court

Little Court is a 1950’s bungalow that was in its original condition and hadn't been updated since it was built. When the new owners purchased the property, they desired to modernise it while adding charm and character that would blend it seamlessly with its surroundings. They envisioned a renovation that would include an extension to the side of the bungalow and the conversion of the loft space into a habitable zone, complete with gothic-style windows that would be in harmony with the neighbouring church. To achieve this, the project involved collaborating with a joinery company with extensive experience in producing window frames and glazing. The build process was carefully executed, considering the established gardens around the property. To prevent any damage to the lawn or plants, sheets of ply were laid on the lawn to prevent rubble from getting into the lawn. Due to the unpredictable nature of the ground, deeper footings may have been necessary. However, the ground below was solid enough for the standard 1-meter footings, and the existing roof tiles were utilised for the front elevation facing the road. New "Rustic Antique" bricks were colour matched to the original brickwork of the main house, resulting in an extension that looked like it had always been part of the original building. The result is a modern gothic-style home that seamlessly blends with its surroundings and exudes charm and character. The property is now a stunning addition to the neighbourhood and sits comfortably next to the 800-year-old church.
